This policy explains what information EgoCash collects when you apply, verify your identity, film tasks, and get paid — and how consent, sharing, and your rights work.
LAST UPDATED AUGUST 28, 2026 · EFFECTIVE AUGUST 28, 2026
EgoCash is a service of DaiDai Labs, Inc. ("DaiDai Labs," "EgoCash," "we," "our," or "us"). EgoCash lets people film everyday household tasks on their own phone and get paid when a clip is approved; DaiDai Labs licenses the resulting footage to robotics and physical-AI teams under the terms described in Section 6.
For the personal information described in this policy, DaiDai Labs, Inc. is the data controller: we decide why it is collected and how it is used.
This policy covers the EgoCash website at egocash.tech, the EgoCash mobile app once it launches, and everything in between — the contributor application, identity verification, task matching, filming, review, and weekly payouts (together, the "Services").
It applies to anyone who visits this site or applies to become a contributor. It does not cover the separate DaiDai Labs B2B site at daidailabs.com, which has its own privacy policy for prospective and current dataset clients, and it does not cover how a client uses footage once it has been delivered under license.
When you apply to become a contributor, we collect what the form asks for:
Before your first payout, we verify that a real, eligible adult is behind the account. If we use a third-party identity verification provider, that provider collects and processes your identity document and a liveness check on our behalf. We store only the outcome of that check — verified or not — and the date it was completed; we do not keep a copy of your ID document ourselves.
The clips you film, the task and equipment metadata attached to them, and the review outcome and feedback for each submission. This content is the reason the Services exist, and is handled as described in Section 6.
The app requests access to your device's camera to record a task and, if you choose, to your camera roll to select a clip you already filmed. We only access what you point the camera at or the specific file you select — nothing is captured in the background. You can revoke camera or photo-library access at any time in your device settings.
To pay you weekly, we collect the bank card or account details needed to send a payout, together with a record of what you earned and when. Card and account numbers are handled by a third-party payment processor; we retain the transaction record, not the full card number.
Device model, operating system and app version, IP address, and — on the website only — a locally stored preference for light or dark mode (see Section 12). We may collect anonymous crash and performance data to keep the app working.
Which tasks you were offered, accepted, or skipped, your submission and review history, and your standing as a contributor (for example, eligibility for a streak bonus).
Task matching and any streak-bonus eligibility are determined by automated rules based on your profile, activity, and review history. If you have questions about how this affects your account, contact us using the details in Section 15.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your application details to train models. The footage you submit is used only as described in Section 6.
DaiDai Labs licenses approved footage to robotics and physical-AI teams. Clients receive the clip and its task metadata together with proof that it is cleared for their license. They do not receive your name, contact details, exact location, payout information, or identity verification records.
Providers who help us run the Services, bound to use your data only on our instructions: identity verification, payment processing, cloud hosting and storage, email delivery, and analytics or crash reporting.
Where required by law, subpoena, or court order, or where necessary to establish, exercise, or defend a legal claim.
If DaiDai Labs is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may transfer as part of that deal. We will notify you before it becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
For any other purpose you explicitly agree to.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Every clip you submit is personal data about you and, potentially, about anyone else who appears in it. The Services are built around a few commitments to keep that footage properly cleared.
This section summarizes the consent you give when you submit a clip; the release you sign in the app is the governing document for exactly what you're agreeing to.
You also have the right to restrict or object to processing based on legitimate interests, the right to data portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority — we'd ask you to raise it with us first. Our legal bases are: contract (running your account and paying you), consent (identity verification and optional device permissions), legitimate interests (securing the Services and preventing fraud), and legal obligation (tax and payout records).
You have the right to know what personal information we collect and why, to request deletion or correction, and to be free from discrimination for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of.
Email contact@daidailabs.com from the address on your account, or use the delete-account option in the app. We reply within 30 days and will tell you if we need longer. We may ask for enough information to confirm it's really you.
The Services are for adults only. Contributors must be 18 or older, and identity verification exists specifically to confirm that before a first payout. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it and close the associated account.
EgoCash launches city by city across multiple countries, so your information may be transferred to and stored in a country other than your own, including the United States, where DaiDai Labs, Inc. is based.
Where data leaves the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, we rely on an adequacy decision where one exists, and otherwise on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, together with technical measures appropriate to the transfer. You can ask us for a copy of the safeguards we use.
We keep personal information for as long as it serves the purpose it was collected for, then delete or anonymize it.
We protect personal information and footage with encryption in transit and at rest, access controls on a need-to-know basis, and separation of identity and payout data from the footage catalogue used for licensing. Payment details are handled by our payment processor and are not stored by us in full.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal information and the law requires notification, we will notify you and any relevant authority within the required timeframe.
This website uses one piece of local storage — your light/dark theme choice — so the site remembers your preference on return visits. It is not a tracking identifier and is never sent to a server.
We do not run advertising or social-tracking cookies on this site. If we add privacy-respecting analytics or the app introduces its own local storage or similar technology, we will update this section.
The Services rely on a small number of third parties to operate: an identity verification provider, a payment processor for weekly payouts, cloud hosting, and email delivery. Each is contractually bound to handle your information securely and only for the purpose we've engaged them for. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of any third-party site you reach through a link from ours, and we encourage you to read their policies directly. A current list of providers is available on request at the address in Section 15.
We update this policy as the Services change, and the version on this page is always the current one. For material changes, we will notify active contributors by email or with a notice in the app before the change takes effect.
Questions about this policy, a rights request, a support issue, or a concern about a clip — all go to the same inbox, and a person reads them.
